Alpha Healing Centre Nominated at World Architecture Festival 2018
Alpha Healing Centre Gujarat nominated at World Architecture Festival 2018 Amsterdam
Alpha Healing Centre
Set within the serene forests of Narukot near Jambughoda in Gujarat, Alpha Healing Centre reimagines the architecture of rehabilitation through the lens of nature, dignity, and holistic healing. Designed as a therapeutic retreat rather than a conventional institutional facility, the campus creates a calm and supportive environment for individuals undergoing recovery from addiction.
The master plan draws inspiration from the organic geometry of a flower, with built forms radiating outward as gentle petals from a central core. This radial layout allows the architecture to weave seamlessly around the site’s mature trees while opening the campus to light, fresh air, and expansive views of the surrounding landscape. Curved pathways, landscaped gardens, and water bodies strengthen the connection between residents and nature, reinforcing the centre’s healing philosophy.
Natural materials, shaded verandahs, and open courtyards ensure comfortable interiors while maintaining harmony with the climate of Gujarat. Patient cottages, wellness facilities, and communal spaces are carefully organized to balance privacy with social interaction. Supported by sustainable strategies such as solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and on-site organic farming, Alpha Healing Centre stands as a thoughtful integration of architecture, landscape, and wellness—creating a restorative sanctuary where recovery unfolds in close dialogue with nature.
