Project Synopsis
Mementos by ITC Ekaaya Udaipur is conceived as a low-density luxury resort that responds sensitively to its natural terrain. The development comprises 157 keys (117 in Phase 1 and 40 in Phase 2), along with specialty restaurants, wellness amenities, banqueting facilities, and recreational spaces.
The design philosophy focuses on creating an immersive experience where built form and landscape exist in harmony, allowing the natural beauty of the Aravalli hills to remain the dominant visual element.
Master Planning
The master plan is driven by the natural contours of the site, ensuring minimal ecological disturbance. Each cluster spans approximately 2 acres, with only about 10% built footprint, preserving openness and privacy.
Carefully calibrated view corridors, discreet circulation networks, and expansive green buffers ensure that every unit enjoys uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape.
Architecture
The architectural language is based on a modular combinatorial system that reinterprets vernacular principles in a contemporary manner. Pyramidal pitched roofs, rising up to 17 feet in height, define the visual identity while enabling thermal efficiency.
The use of locally sourced stone plinths and fly-ash brick superstructures reinforces sustainability and contextual relevance, ensuring the built form remains grounded in its environment.
Interiors
The interiors are designed to complement the architecture, blending contemporary luxury with regional craftsmanship. Double-height volumes, exposed structural elements, layered lighting, handcrafted rugs, and bespoke furniture create a rich and immersive spatial experience.
Each space reflects a balance between refined aesthetics and functional comfort, maintaining continuity with the overall architectural vision.
Landscape
The landscape strategy focuses on preserving the natural contours and enhancing the ecological character of the site. Native and wind-resilient plant species are used to create a sustainable and low-maintenance environment.
The design ensures a seamless integration between built and unbuilt spaces, allowing the Aravalli hills to remain the primary visual anchor throughout the project.
Product Design
Custom-designed elements including lighting fixtures, furniture, and architectural details were developed in-house by AAA. This ensures design consistency across all scales, from master planning to interior detailing.
Conclusion
ITC Mementos Ekaaya Udaipur stands as a signature hospitality project designed by Architect Dharam Patel, showcasing Art & Architecture Associates’ ability to deliver integrated, large-scale developments rooted in sustainability and contextual design.
The project reinforces AAA’s position as a leading architectural practice in India, with expertise in crafting immersive and environmentally responsive destinations.
